History
The Ayan Rail Corporation was established by the Department of Transport and Tourism under Andreyev Stepanovich in 2004. Inheriting much of the remaining rail infrastructure following the Nuclear Crisis, ARC was then owned entirely by the DTT and did not run any trains in revenue service until 2008. The first lines opened in the São Cedillo metropolitan area in May 2008, using primarily West Ayan-made diesel multiple unit (DMU) trains.
